May 8, 2023. Once Upon a Time in the West has been on the short list of titles I've wanted to see in 4K HDR ever since the format was announced. And now that the day has arrived, my reaction can be summed up in two words: deeply ambivalent. There's no denying it looks striking, worthy of all the usual praise about pristine reproduction.. Set in the dying days of the Old West, a struggle to control water in a dusty desert town embroils three hard-bitten gunmen in an epic clash of greed, honor, and revenge.
